The Adams River in British Columbia is the destination hotspot for spawning Sockeye Salmon. The Adams is part of the legendary Fraser River system and enters the Fraser via the Thompson. In 2010 an estimated 34.5 million Sockeye entered the Fraser, the largest run in 97 years. Of those 34 million about 7 million were headed for the Adams River / Shuswap Lake complex where I slipped in to photograph a river literally running red.
