Hoar Frost Crabapples
Often when people see this image they mistake the fruits for cherries, actually they are crab apples. The conditions must be just right for these ice crystals to form. When the relative humidity of supersaturated air is greater than 100%, and the object is chilled below freezing, then “Hoar Frost” will form. If the object is not below freezing then "dew" will form instead.
